I've always loved movies and tv.  Escaping into another world, good prevailing over evil, emotion inducing action, drama, comedy, living vicariously through the characters and fantasizing about being in their shoes.  Sure, today's movies have amazing special effects and wouldn't have looked as good back in the day (LotR and super hero movies, in particular), but a lot of older movies possessed a level of heart and charm you just can't easily duplicate today. The list of classics from just the 80s are endless, some of which the series bled over into the 90s and beyond.
