OLD THREAD: Classic Cars and General Discussion
Another week of conversation goodness is upon us, and for our old buddy Greg (or in memoriam, whichever the case may be) I'm doing a post about classic cars. As always, this is a general topic of discussion, chat about whatever in the comment thread. I've always loved the visuals of classic cars, even though I'm not a full blown gearhead. They definitely had a style and look that you don't get with today's generic looking vehicles. Sure, you may get an outlier or two, like the Hummer, Toyota FJ Cruiser, the New Bronco, those ridiculous looking Scion xBs and Nissan Cubes, PT Cruiser, Chevy HHR, that sort of thing, but even those have a streamlined look as well. Gone are the days of big pointy fins and rocket taillights, t tops, vent windows, hood ornaments, sealed beam headlights, door rub strips and wood side panels, etc. Now almost everything you see looks basically the same, with minor tweaks between manufacturers.
