Main Thread: Sequels Better Than the Original and General Discussion
Thanks to our mate Cam, we've got our new week's thread. Sequels that were better than the originals.
I admit, I went online to look this topic up, but after I did and saw some of the choices, I realized afterwards it wasn't as difficult of a subject to address as I originally thought and they made sense.
Some of the movies listed were The Dark Knight, The Godfather Part II, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Dune: Part Two, Thor:Ragnarok, Logan, Spider-Man 2, Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, Lethal Weapon 2, and Terminator 2.
While I think Lethal Weapon 2 and Empire can be debatable (Return of the Jedi, imo, was the best of the original three), I can agree with the others.
The Dark Knight and Terminator 2 definitely were and are pretty obvious. I wasn't a big Terminator fan, but even not being a fan I could easily tell. Thor:Ragnarok compared to the first two was definitely more fun. Logan was much better than the other solo Wolverine movies before it. I definitely agree with Spider-Man 2 (not to discredit Willem DeFoe by any means as he's a hell of an actor). I just found the movie overall to be much better.
And even though I'm not a big Aliens fan, even less a Godfather fan, I've heard that numerous times for both. Haven't seen any of the movies associated with the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, but I'm putting it on my watch list because it's long overdue.
I'll make a personal pick and say Police Academy 3, as that's my favorite one of the franchise (although I do admit that's a personal choice and absolutely debatable. I was a big Zed and Jones fan, although I liked all the characters).
That being said, I'm not going to get into any more detail about the topic. That's what the comments are for. Do you agree or disagree with the list? What are some others you think fit the topic? Discuss that, and anything else you feel the need to in this here thread.
