OLD THREAD: REAL LIFE ODDITIES And General Discussion

Image
So I figured I'd do a thread on something we haven't touched on before, and something that could be very interesting to delve into and learn more about.  Real life oddities, freaks, etc. I'm talking circus sideshow freaks of old, like the bearded lady, dog boy, siamese twins, the biggest and smallest humans in existence, all those odd, yet interesting, anomalies of nature from days past.  But that's not all we're discussing. Oh, no.  We're talking about other oddities, whether it be things from folklore such as wendigos, real life shockers like shrunken heads and cannibalism, all sorts of weird, odd, strange, and even macabre things and occurrences. So let your freak flag fly and share something you've come across online, or read about, or whatever, that fits the bill of odd, weird, or strange.  Even if it's something that's occurred to you personally.  And, of course, talk about any other damn thing ya want.

OLD THREAD: SPAM-A-MANIA 3: SPAM HARD WITH A VENGEANCE: and General Discussion

Image
So........   Since I started watching All In (and started laundry and dishes) as soon as I got home from work - and was also tired as shit - I totally forgot it was time for another thread. That being the case, I went back to the gift that keeps on giving, since I'm definitely too tired to write about a topic now.  Spam-a-mania.   Thus I give you.......  SPAM-A-MANIA 3: SPAM HARD WITH A VENGEANCE.  We all know how this shit works by now.  Spam some shit.  Talk about some shit.  And basically just do what we always do here in this beautiful Garden.  'Nuff said.

OLD THREAD: Spinal Tap 41st Anniversary! and General Discussion

Image
So, since it's the 41st Anniversary of the movie This is Spinal Tap (and since I just went and watched it on the big screen tonight. Score!) this week's thread is about one of my favorite cult classic flicks.  Oh, and also all the random insanity you crazy wackos post on a daily basis. 😆 David St. Hubbins (named after St. Hubbins, the patron saint of quality footwear), Nigel Tufnel (lead guitar!  These go to 11!), Derek Smalls, Ian Faith, Marty DeBergi, and the rest of the wacky crew.  All make up a great menagerie of characters that touch your hearts and tickle your funny bone. Where else can you see Billy Crystal in a cameo as a mime, Paul Shaffer as Artie Fufkin of Polymer Records, and a pre-Nanny Fran Drescher among others?  For those who don't know, it's a "mockumentary" released in 1984, where a film crew follows around a UK rock/metal band on their North American tour which is full of comedic mishaps while on the road.  From cancelations, to a pod ...

OLD THREAD: Zombie Apocalypse is Coming! and General Discussion

Image
Pi$$y came up with a fun idea for a thread.  The zombie apocalypse is coming, who are the three people you want on your team in order to survive? This is a pretty good, light hearted question to have some fun with. It can be anybody, real or fictional, but not superheroes, though, that's fn cheating.  It'd be too easy to just pick Lobo, Superman, and Wolverine or some shit. So they have to be real, "realistic", "normal", or non powered types, like......  idk......  Blackbeard, Negan, and fucking Magnum P.I. or something. Whatever.  No OP shit.  Yes, even Alf, Johnny 5, Zorro, Braveheart, or Ivan Drago, but not Homelander, a Predator, Godzilla (looking at you, Mitch), Gandalf, Space Ghost, or the Terminator.  You get the gist. So have some fun, pick your team, and survive the zombie hordes!   And talk about any other damn topic ya want.

OLD THREAD: Pirates! And General Discussion

Image
So.....  Since I've been watching Black Sails on Starz, I decided to delve into the world of pirates this week. The AI overview on Google gave me some good summations which I'll put here considering, for a number of decades now at least, we have glamorized and romanticized pirates in many forms, to the point of even having a recent Disney kid's show made about them.  "The real story of pirates in history is far more complex and nuanced than popular portrayals suggest. While the "Golden Age of Piracy" (roughly 1650s-1730s) is often romanticized, it was a period marked by both daring exploits and brutal realities. Pirates were not always the swashbuckling heroes of fiction, but rather individuals motivated by factors like poverty, political instability, and the lure of wealth." I am guilty of enjoying the glossed over image of pirates that our current society holds.  Jack Sparrow, for instance, is a good example. Long John Silver is another. And so on and...

OLD THREAD: SPAM-A-MANIA 2: SPAM HARDER and General Discussion

Image
Well, I got stuck at work because the new custodian wound up being a fucking dipshit so I don't have a lot of time or energy to dive into a topic.   So............   Because of that we're just gonna have a free for all again.   SPAM-A-MANIA 2! We all know how this goes.  And, honestly, it's basically the same as any other day of random conversations, just without a specific topic to add to the discussion.  So without further a-dieu (to paraphrase Kenny Omega), get on it, get wild, get crazy, and talk about shit as only the Garden can. Because we're so fucking awesome.

OLD THREAD: Belated PiTG Anniversary! And General Discussion.

Image
Well, I totally botched this, but........  HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, PITG!! Yes, it's true.  It's damn true.  As of May 30th, your beloved Pandemonium in the Garden has been around an entire year! We've had some great people come through this place and make it their online home away from home, and have had some great discussions and memories. Yes, we've also dealt with some of the lowest form of scum to ever infest the internet, but those losers are long gone and this place is so much the better for it.  But that's neither here nor there.  This is a thread for celebration, this is a thread for positivity, and a thread for the hopes of many more great years to follow. So let's try to get some more great peeps to join the ranks and grow into an even bigger "best site to hang out in all the Disqusverse". Before I go, I just want to thank everybody who's made this site the awesome hangout that it is.  Give each other, and yourselves, a round of appl...
