MAIN THREAD: Happy Easter! And General Discussion

 Hoppy - uh, I mean - Happy Easter! 

It's finally that time of year when the coldness of winter will be replaced with the warmer rainy weather of Spring.

It's also the time for pastel colors, baskets, colored eggs (racist!), and, of course, Jesus' resurrection.

 Not to mention a giant rabbit trespassing in your yard to hide a bunch of those aforementioned diversely colored eggs instead of, let's see, just leaving them on your doorstep all nice and orderly in a pretty basket.  Dirty, rat bastard. 

Oh, and mutha fuckin' Cadbury creme eggs!

It's a time to celebrate life and rebirth, to scarf down Easter dinner, go to Easter Sunday service (For some, the one time of the year. Damn heathens.), and guzzle a shit ton of candy.  

And you don't even have to dress up in a silly costume and go door to door begging for it.  Hell yeah! 

No creepy ghouls and ghosts, no wrapped gifts, no hearts and lovey dovey stuff, no green beer, just a celebration of the triumph of life over sin and death, light over darkness, and God's love.  And for you faithless, soulless, pagan, non believers.... bunnies with eggs (which makes zero sense, btw. Shoulda been an Easter chicken!  Who's silly now, ya nonsensical bastards?).

So eat up, enjoy the better weather, express your faith - if you have that - and talk about the season as well as any other thing you damn well please.

  Now that I have that out of my system, HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL OF THE AMAZING PEEPS HERE AT PITG! OLD THREAD: Happy Thanksgiving! And General Discussion

 Well, here we are at another Thanksgiving season at the Garden! I'm sure you know the drill by now. I ramble on about turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc etc and also giving thanks for what you have in your life and then tell you to chat about Thanksgiving and anything else you want. Maybe I throw in a bit about Thanksgiving not being such a positive for Native American peoples in the grand scheme of things, but it's evolved past cliche, contradicted images of happy pilgrims and natives sitting around tables full of food into a general sense of giving thanks for family, friends, and life in general.  Hell, I could throw in a few rasslin' related lines about the Gobbledygooker's debut at Survivor Series 1990 just for a few nostalgic laughs. OLD THREAD: MLK And General Discussion

 Since we're heading into Martin Luther King Day, I figured I would make the new thread about good ole Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I've always subscribed to MLK's credo of unity and brotherhood amongst the races.  I'm all about that - about people treating people as people and judging them on their character, not the color of their skin. The belief that people, black and white (and all races), can sit at the table of brotherhood and sisterhood. Which is what King believed in. I'm also against racism in any form. Yes, that includes racism against Caucasians and, no, I don't need to hear the bs "minorities can't be racist" line because, globally, white people are the minority.
