OLD THREAD: Alcohol! And General Discussion

So this week we're gonna have a more lighthearted topic......   Good ole alcohol. I won't be getting into the different types, brands, etc. because......... THAT'S WHAT THE COMMENT SECTION IS FOR, HOT DAMMIT!  Moving on.....

Alcohol can be negative, sure, but it can also be a positive thing.  Social interaction, building friendships, and just general good natured fun can be had with alcohol involved. The main staples include beer, liquor, and wine, which we'll discuss here in the post.

A nice, cold beer is a good way to enjoy alcohol.  Whether it be at home (or the stadium) enjoying a favorite sporting event, at a concert, a backyard cookout, whatever the case may be.  It's also the least expensive drink at the bar, which means if you're low on funds you can still enjoy a night out.

It may leave you feeling bloated if you drink too much of it, and it'll definitely go to your waistline in your older years if you're not careful, but it's definitely a reliable go to.

Liquor is a more potent drink of choice, and is a good one for sitting at home. You can mix it with practically anything, or nothing at all, and it's usually not as "heavy" as beer which will usually keep you from that bloated feeling.  As most people know here, rum is my liquor of choice.

Partygoers looking for a quick buzz (or more) will normally opt for the liquor, signified by the socially accepted rally cry of "shots! shots! shots! shots!" (sometimes accompanied by the song where the lyrics chant the very same rally cry).

And lastly we have wine.  Adopted, interestingly, by both ends of the social spectrum; the more "dignified" drinkers, and also the down on their luck "winos" who love a good bottle'a hooch.

I also couldn't write about wine without mentioning Cam's wine of choice, the European staple Buckfast, which is pretty much wine on steroids.  Or on crack, whichever analogy you prefer.   It's a super potent wine - that also includes caffeine - that's guaranteed to fu......... you up.

Talk about your favorite spirits, drinks, unique concoctions, and any other topic, in this here thread.
