MAIN THREAD: IT'S A NEW YEAR, YES IT IS! and General Discussion

 

Now that I have that out of my system, HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL OF THE AMAZING PEEPS HERE AT PITG!


So we're heading into 2026.  I'm sure some people are hopeful for a brand new year and brand new adventures, memories, successes, and so on and so forth. 

Not to mention, the Japanese wrestling circuit is looking forward to Dream Queendom and Wrestle Kingdom events that are kicking off during this time.  You're welcome, Bass.  😆

But I'm also sure there are probably others who are worrying about what the new year holds.  Whether it be civil war, continued invasions, World War III, more tariffs, states sliding into the oceans, or the sky literally falling on our heads.

Whatever the case may be, this is the time for celebrating another year on this crazy ass orb (yes, orb, not flat earth) and hoping it turns out better than the last.

So what are people hoping for in the new year? What are you dreading?  What do you predict happening?  Talk about all that and more, and any other damn thing you want, in this here thread.

Here's hoping it's a good year for everybody here at the Garden, and (most of) everybody else out there. So watch the ball drop, sing Auld Lang Syne, and throw back a few (except Bass, who doesn't drink) as tradition calls for!

 Well, here we are at another Thanksgiving season at the Garden! I'm sure you know the drill by now. I ramble on about turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc etc and also giving thanks for what you have in your life and then tell you to chat about Thanksgiving and anything else you want. Maybe I throw in a bit about Thanksgiving not being such a positive for Native American peoples in the grand scheme of things, but it's evolved past cliche, contradicted images of happy pilgrims and natives sitting around tables full of food into a general sense of giving thanks for family, friends, and life in general.  Hell, I could throw in a few rasslin' related lines about the Gobbledygooker's debut at Survivor Series 1990 just for a few nostalgic laughs. Well, I got stuck at work because the new custodian wound up being a fucking dipshit so I don't have a lot of time or energy to dive into a topic.   So............   Because of that we're just gonna have a free for all again.   SPAM-A-MANIA 2! We all know how this goes.  And, honestly, it's basically the same as any other day of random conversations, just without a specific topic to add to the discussion.  So without further a-dieu (to paraphrase Kenny Omega), get on it, get wild, get crazy, and talk about shit as only the Garden can. OLD THREAD: Happy Halloween! And General Discussion

 Well, it's that time of year again, time for the spooky season! I'm not gonna go into the history of Halloween, because I believe I already did that last time. No, I didn't go check because I ain't got time to take 30 seconds to scroll down to the last Halloween thread.  😆 Anywho, Halloween has become pretty commercially routine anymore. Not that you need a lot of variations on the basic theme of costumes and candy, but it seems like every year it's the same old Michael Myers and Nightmare Before Christmas shirts and plushes, basic throw blankets, and cheapo novelty makeup and jewelry.  Even the "variety" of masks have become mostly the same thing year after year.  At least in the big box stores, which is where a lot of people have to shop in our current economy. I blame the tariffs.  😏 At least we still have women in skimpy, slutty costumes acting like psychos and using the season as a reason for it.  That's a decent consolation, right? 🤔 But enou...
