 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Um.......  I mean......   MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We're 11 days away from the bestest holiday season of the year (fuck you, Halloween)! The time for peace on earth, good will towards men - and women - holly, mistletoe, Christmas carols (Mariah Carey doesn't count, hot dammit...), sleigh bells, Santa, Frosty, presents, tidings of comfort and joy, the whole damn shebang!

There are even yuletide movies for the misfits.  Rudolph is the most obvious, of course, having the island of misfit toys, Hermie the dentist elf, Yukon Cornelius, and Bumble the abominable snowman.

But you also have films such as A Christmas Horror Story, Fatman, Red One, and Violent Night, not to mention Nightmare Before Christmas (which was marketing genius because it's a dual holiday flick that capitalizes on and makes bank from both Halloween and Christmas), and many more.

That's not even counting the classics such as Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story (meh), It's a Wonderful Life (meh), Elf, Home Alone, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard. 

So put on your Grinch slippers, curl up by the fire with some eggnog and cookies, go sit on Santa's lap (you dirty sex pests) and tell him what you want for Christmas, and also congregate in the Garden and tell errbody what you like best about the season, what you're hoping for this holiday, and whatever else Christmas related. 

And, of course, talk about any other damn thing you want.  Bah, humbug.  I mean.....   MERRRRRRRY CHRISTMAS one and all, and God bless us, everyone.

 Well, here we are at another Thanksgiving season at the Garden! I'm sure you know the drill by now. I ramble on about turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc etc and also giving thanks for what you have in your life and then tell you to chat about Thanksgiving and anything else you want. Maybe I throw in a bit about Thanksgiving not being such a positive for Native American peoples in the grand scheme of things, but it's evolved past cliche, contradicted images of happy pilgrims and natives sitting around tables full of food into a general sense of giving thanks for family, friends, and life in general.  Hell, I could throw in a few rasslin' related lines about the Gobbledygooker's debut at Survivor Series 1990 just for a few nostalgic laughs. Well, I got stuck at work because the new custodian wound up being a fucking dipshit so I don't have a lot of time or energy to dive into a topic.   So............   Because of that we're just gonna have a free for all again.   SPAM-A-MANIA 2! We all know how this goes.  And, honestly, it's basically the same as any other day of random conversations, just without a specific topic to add to the discussion.  So without further a-dieu (to paraphrase Kenny Omega), get on it, get wild, get crazy, and talk about shit as only the Garden can. OLD THREAD: Happy Halloween! And General Discussion

 Well, it's that time of year again, time for the spooky season! I'm not gonna go into the history of Halloween, because I believe I already did that last time. No, I didn't go check because I ain't got time to take 30 seconds to scroll down to the last Halloween thread.  😆 Anywho, Halloween has become pretty commercially routine anymore. Not that you need a lot of variations on the basic theme of costumes and candy, but it seems like every year it's the same old Michael Myers and Nightmare Before Christmas shirts and plushes, basic throw blankets, and cheapo novelty makeup and jewelry.  Even the "variety" of masks have become mostly the same thing year after year.  At least in the big box stores, which is where a lot of people have to shop in our current economy. I blame the tariffs.  😏 At least we still have women in skimpy, slutty costumes acting like psychos and using the season as a reason for it.  That's a decent consolation, right? 🤔 But enou...
