MAIN THREAD: Happy St. Patrick's Day! and General Discussion

 

Well, it's March, and the time of year where everybody wears green and uses it as another excuse to get sloppy ass drunk.

Yes, you guessed it, it's time for St. Patrick's Day!

It's time for shamrocks, leprechauns, violating somebody by pinching them for not wearing green, McDonald's shamrock shakes, and drinking green colored beer.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure how this became such a big holiday. I mean, I guess it's rooted in Christianity lore based on this summary from Google AI: 

"St. Patrick’s Day commemorates Saint Patrick, a 5th-century Romano-British missionary who was kidnapped as a teenager and enslaved in Ireland. After escaping, he returned to convert the Irish to Christianity, using the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity. He died on March 17, 461, and is the patron saint of Ireland."

But still, it's wild to think a random story of hardship and suffrage, even though it ended in a positive, successful campaign, was singled out as a major holiday endeavor.  

I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of similar stories in the past that haven't gotten the same recognition, but I guess that one just stood out for some reason. Meh, I'm done trying to figure it out.

So drink your green shit, pinch somebody and get the cops called on you for assault, talk about everything Irish, and also discuss any other damn thing you want.

 Well, here we are at another Thanksgiving season at the Garden! I'm sure you know the drill by now. I ramble on about turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc etc and also giving thanks for what you have in your life and then tell you to chat about Thanksgiving and anything else you want. OLD THREAD: IT'S A NEW YEAR, YES IT IS! and General Discussion

  Now that I have that out of my system, HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL OF THE AMAZING PEEPS HERE AT PITG! So we're heading into 2026.  I'm sure some people are hopeful for a brand new year and brand new adventures, memories, successes, and so on and so forth.  Not to mention, the Japanese wrestling circuit is looking forward to Dream Queendom and Wrestle Kingdom events that are kicking off during this time.  You're welcome, Bass.  😆 But I'm also sure there are probably others who are worrying about what the new year holds.  Whether it be civil war, continued invasions, World War III, more tariffs, states sliding into the oceans, or the sky literally falling on our heads. Whatever the case may be, this is the time for celebrating another year on this crazy ass orb (yes, orb, not flat earth) and hoping it turns out better than the last. OLD THREAD: MLK And General Discussion

 Since we're heading into Martin Luther King Day, I figured I would make the new thread about good ole Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I've always subscribed to MLK's credo of unity and brotherhood amongst the races.  I'm all about that - about people treating people as people and judging them on their character, not the color of their skin. The belief that people, black and white (and all races), can sit at the table of brotherhood and sisterhood. Which is what King believed in. I'm also against racism in any form. Yes, that includes racism against Caucasians and, no, I don't need to hear the bs "minorities can't be racist" line because, globally, white people are the minority.
